Leafs need someone who can defend well. They have enough offensive minded guys, I really think they missed big on a guy like Dillon. If their solution is somehow PK then I don't thin Duber lasts much longer. Deangelo would cost a ton, this doesn't seem realistic.

DeAngelo adds something Barrie doesn't in what way? I mean if he was free, ok, but he's going to cost assets to not address a need.

That said, I'd say the same about the Blues and Ristolainen, but I'd have said that about the Blues and Faulk too, and they not only traded for him but gave him that contract. So who knows.

Sabres are STRONGLY considering it.

Leafs need a magical defenseman who can fill a void that no other defenseman can fill. Really?

Can they not just get the guys they have to play a different way?

Why not try another system?

Is it a matter of finding particular guys that can only do particular things, or finding a system and making guys play it properly?

Really should be the latter.

On a similar note, would it be so hard to tell a guy who skates away from contact at every opportunity that he's gonna sit the next game if he doesn't start mucking it up a bit?

Would it be so hard to tell a winger that he needs to drive the net - whether successful or not - instead of turning back at the hashmarks every time he breaks into the zone to find nobody available to pass to? And if he doesn't listen, couldn't they throw him on the 4th line for a week?

Seems like a lot of coddling and not enough telling them to do their damn jobs.

The leafs want TDA before this isn't their first go around. Dumber is a moron he has enough fire power and needs a stay at home solid Dman which of course TDA isn't!! The leafs would be better off with Skjei he is big and strong and can move the puck and the price is right TDA would cost the leafs more than Skjei. I say we swap Skjei for Kapanen we get what we need and the leafs get what they desperately need.

Leafs need to start playing a team minded games and not think about which guy has to score or produce more to justify getting 11 million. Not a leaf fan but Dubas is compensating for something his coach needs to ask his team to do better.

Don't know why the Rangers traded Trouba and are looking to move DeAngelo when they're 1-2 seasons away from competing for a playoff spot
